child safety standards.
Zero tolerance
Ojalá, operated by Polari Group, is a dating app for adults, open only to people 18 and older. We have a zero-tolerance policy for content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors. This includes, but is not limited to, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, enticement, sextortion, and any attempt to access the service while underage.
Accounts found to be associated with this content or behavior are permanently banned, no exceptions, and relevant material is reported as described below.
Age gate
- Users must affirm they are 18+ before any access. Date of birth is collected at signup and validated server-side.
- Accounts we determine to belong to anyone under 18, whether through a report, our own moderation review, or any other channel, are terminated immediately and the user is banned from creating new accounts.
- Ojalá does not market to, advertise to, or knowingly serve minors.
How we detect prohibited content
- Pre-publication moderation. Every photo added to a profile is scanned by Amazon Rekognition before it appears. Photos that fail the policy are blocked from publication and the upload is logged for moderator review.
- CSAM hash matching. We integrate PhotoDNA / Thorn Safer hash matching into the moderation pipeline. Proactive scanning on every upload is on our roadmap; the obligation to act on any discovery, whether through user reports, moderator review, or automated detection, is in force today and is not contingent on the proactive scan being live.
- Human moderator review. Permanent account terminations require human moderator approval. AI tools may apply temporary suspensions and recommend permanent action, but only a human can finalize a ban for this category.
How to report
If you see suspected CSAM, grooming, sextortion, or an underage user, report it immediately. We acknowledge every report and act within 24 hours for CSAM and child-safety reports; most resolve faster.
- In-app report flow. Open the profile or message → ⋯ menu → Report. Reports go to our trust & safety queue with the relevant context attached automatically.
- Direct email. child-safety@ojaladating.com, monitored by our safety team. Use this if you can't access the in-app flow, or if you're reporting on behalf of someone else.
- Take-it-down requests. If a specific image or video of a minor needs to come down, the Take-It-Down form is the fastest path. We honor takedown requests for CSAM on first contact, without waiting for additional documentation.
What we do when we find it
The response to confirmed CSAM is fixed and not negotiable:
- Immediate takedown. The content is removed from public visibility as soon as it is detected, before moderator review completes, and quarantined for the legal record.
- Permanent account ban. The account uploading or distributing the material is permanently terminated. The user is barred from creating new accounts; we maintain device + identifier fingerprints to enforce the ban.
- NCMEC report. We file a CyberTipline report with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. The report includes the offending content, account metadata, and the forensic record of how the material was identified.
- Law enforcement cooperation. We preserve account records consistent with § 2258A(h) and respond to valid legal process from federal, state, local, and tribal agencies. The procedure for law enforcement is documented on the Law Enforcement Requests page.
Banned conduct (non-exhaustive)
- Sharing, requesting, or soliciting CSAM in any form.
- Grooming behavior: any attempt to build emotional or sexual contact with a minor, including pretending to be a minor to attract or test for minors.
- Sextortion or coerced sharing of intimate images.
- Posting content that depicts or simulates a minor in a sexual or sexually-suggestive context, including AI-generated or fictional material.
- Linking out to off-platform CSAM, including coded language or hashtags.
- Operating an Ojalá account while under 18, or facilitating access for a minor.
Transparency
The volume of CSAM-related actions taken, including takedowns, account bans, and NCMEC reports filed, is published in our annual Transparency Report. Aggregate counts only; we do not publish identifying details about reporters, targets, or law-enforcement inquiries.
